A Prayer (31 Days Into the New Year)

Good morning everyone! We are 31 days into the new year and I felt compelled to offer a prayer. I encourage you to pray this prayer over your life as well.

Lord God of Heaven's Armies, let me first acknowledge and honor You simply for who You are. You are the God who created the heavens, earth and everything single thing that dwells within them. You are the God of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. You are the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. You are the God who brought the Children of Israel out of Egypt and allow them to cross the Red Sea on dry land. But You allow the waters to take out their enemies. Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner saved by Your grace. So if I have sinned against You in any fashion, I humbly asked that You please forgive me of my sins. I thank You for Your sacrificial love and the forgiveness of our sins, in Jesus name.
Oh Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Father God, it is by Your grace and power that I have made it through 31 days of a new year. I pray that I am off to good start and that I am going in the direction in which You desire me to travel. I know that obstacles will come as I walk the path of life. I simply ask that You allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me over and through them. I pray that You do not allow me to turn to the left or right when You say go straight. I pray that this is a year of transformation, restoration and revelation. I pray that You will open my eyes to new opportunities and doors that will open for me. I pray that You will give me the wisdom to discern when things or people are going against me that I may lift the matter unto You in prayer. Help me to be slow to anger and learn how to let You fight my battles. As I continue through the new year and look forward to the end, I thank You in advance for the good gifts You are about to shower upon me and my family. I give thanks for the bright future You have planned for our lives.
Lord God, I pray that You will protect my family and friends as they go about their day to day lives. I pray for those that do not know You and that bring them closer to You. Bless their household and bless them on their jobs. Bless their businesses and bless their marriages.
Lord God, I pray today that You always remind me that You are never far away from me. I desire to experience all that I can when in Your presence. I will forever give You glory. Your praise shall flow from my mouth continually. I will bless You at all times for You are my God!
I pray these things and all things in the precious name of Your Son, Christ Jesus. Amen

Be blessed and be a blessing!

Who are you Listening to?

Good morning my awesomely blessed family!

In Acts 27, we find Paul about to set sail with other prisoners headed to Rome. We read that Paul warned them as they were docked that they should not sail as disaster lies ahead. But the Captain and ship’s owner did not listen to him and did it away. Most of the men agreed as they were also wanting to sail on to another island. So, they pulled up their anchor and started sailing towards Crete. And I guess you know what happened? As Paul had warned, a great storm came and the ship took a great lost of cargo and equipment.

Have you ever been in the position to hear from God but the majority is saying something different? Who did you listen to? Whose directions did you follow? Often times we want to please everybody and do what majority want us to do; even though God told us to do something else. Like the Ship Officer, he listened to everybody else’s opinion and made a huge mistake that created a significant loss. We too should expect to suffer loss if we disobey God and follow the crowd. Yes, we have free-will and can make our own decisions. But those decisions should be to do what we know is right and that is to listen to the voice of God. Who are you listening?

Scripture Reading
'But the weather changed abruptly, and a wind of typhoon strength (called a “northeaster”) burst across the island and blew us out to sea. And since Fair Havens was an exposed harbor—a poor place to spend the winter—most of the crew wanted to go on to Phoenix, farther up the coast of Crete, and spend the winter there. Phoenix was a good harbor with only a southwest and northwest exposure. “Men,” he said, “I believe there is trouble ahead if we go on—shipwreck, loss of cargo, and danger to our lives as well.” But the officer in charge of the prisoners listened more to the ship’s captain and the owner than to Paul. When a light wind began blowing from the south, the sailors thought they could make it. So they pulled up anchor and sailed close to the shore of Crete. The sailors couldn’t turn the ship into the wind, so they gave up and let it run before the gale.'

Have an amazing day & New Year!
