Praying is as Easy as Breathing

Good morning my YST family! I pray that you had an awesome weekend and are ready to tackle another week!

I want to talk about prayer for a moment. Let me be the first to say I used to be afraid to pray out loud. I felt that I didn't know how to pray. I didn't know what to say. I've heard so many Pastors and Preachers pray that I was scared I would not pray like they do. Then someone told me that praying is having a conversation with God. It is as easy as breathing. Did this easiness happen for me overnight? No, it did not. As a matter of fact, I would simply pray and ask God for things I wanted and needed. Now that was easy! There was nothing hard about telling the Lord about the material things I wanted or situations I needed to get out of. God wants us to pray. He wants us praying simply, directly and truthfully as ourselves and not pray like anyone else.

You can pray while you are driving, cooking, cleaning or quietly in your room behind closed doors. There are no special words, dress code, ritual or posture when praying. You don't even have to close your eyes if you don't want to. No one said you had to do any of these things to offer up prayer unto God. Just be yourself, open your mouth wherever you are and talk to God about whatever is on your heart. Praying is as easy as breathing. Give it a try, right now!

Let’s pray together:

Father God, thank you for the special and awesome way that you created me. Please help me to pray simply: to get rid of complications from my prayer life, to shut the door to all distractions and to freely talk with you. In Jesus name. Amen

Now, go and have an amazing day!

A Prayer (31 Days Into the New Year)

Good morning everyone! We are 31 days into the new year and I felt compelled to offer a prayer. I encourage you to pray this prayer over your life as well.

Lord God of Heaven's Armies, let me first acknowledge and honor You simply for who You are. You are the God who created the heavens, earth and everything single thing that dwells within them. You are the God of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. You are the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. You are the God who brought the Children of Israel out of Egypt and allow them to cross the Red Sea on dry land. But You allow the waters to take out their enemies. Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner saved by Your grace. So if I have sinned against You in any fashion, I humbly asked that You please forgive me of my sins. I thank You for Your sacrificial love and the forgiveness of our sins, in Jesus name.
Oh Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Father God, it is by Your grace and power that I have made it through 31 days of a new year. I pray that I am off to good start and that I am going in the direction in which You desire me to travel. I know that obstacles will come as I walk the path of life. I simply ask that You allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me over and through them. I pray that You do not allow me to turn to the left or right when You say go straight. I pray that this is a year of transformation, restoration and revelation. I pray that You will open my eyes to new opportunities and doors that will open for me. I pray that You will give me the wisdom to discern when things or people are going against me that I may lift the matter unto You in prayer. Help me to be slow to anger and learn how to let You fight my battles. As I continue through the new year and look forward to the end, I thank You in advance for the good gifts You are about to shower upon me and my family. I give thanks for the bright future You have planned for our lives.
Lord God, I pray that You will protect my family and friends as they go about their day to day lives. I pray for those that do not know You and that bring them closer to You. Bless their household and bless them on their jobs. Bless their businesses and bless their marriages.
Lord God, I pray today that You always remind me that You are never far away from me. I desire to experience all that I can when in Your presence. I will forever give You glory. Your praise shall flow from my mouth continually. I will bless You at all times for You are my God!
I pray these things and all things in the precious name of Your Son, Christ Jesus. Amen

Be blessed and be a blessing!

Authority through Prayer

Good morning everyone! I want to tell you all that Myles Munroe is one of my favorite inspirational & spiritual speakers. He was truly an awesome man of God. One of his inspiring messages is the authority through prayer. Can you believe it? We have power over things and situations through our prayers. As defined by Dr Munroe, "Prayer is man giving God permission or license to interfere in earth's affairs. In other words, prayer is earthly license for heavenly interference."

What does this actually means for you and me? Well, it means when things happen that impacts us negatively, we can pray about it. When storms starts to rage in our lives, we can pray about it. The Scriptures tell us to "pray without ceasing". We can not stopped praying!

Wait! There's something else we have to do in order to see results of our authorized prayer. We have to believe that God will move on our behalf. Believe that he will answer our prayers. And Matthew 21:22, Jesus gave the lesson about the fig tree, He stated, "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive". So oh, you see prayer is powerful and has the ability to change things in the earth. But you have to believe! Are you ready to make things happen? Are you ready to change your life and the lives of those in your circle of influence? Then get to praying! Because you have authority through prayer!

Have an awesome and prayerful week!

One love,

Valerie

God Hears Your Prayer

Good morning!! It's a new week and we should be looking forward to new things. I know, you are probably still going through the same issue or turmoil you were suffering with last week. You've been praying and seeking God about it. You've put it on the alter almost every Sunday at church. You can't seem to figure out how to fix the problem. In your eyes, the issue is getting bigger and you can't see an end in sight. B.U.T. I need you to know that the light is about to shine at the end of your tunnel. Be reminded of the story of Hannah. She suffered being tormented by Elkanah's other wife for years because she didn't have any children. Hannah prayed and she prayed! What we learned was that God heard her prayers and remembered her. Read 1 Samuel 1:10-20 and be encouraged.

So, I Am here to tell you that God hears your prayers as well. He already knows what is needed to fix your problem. Just hold on and He will remember you. Now that you know that you are next in line, go have yourself an amazing day and week! See you next Monday!

One Love,

Valerie

Quiet Space (Poem)

We walk around living life as if it's our own. Wake up, go to work or school and then back home.
Minute by minute we plan our day; everything gets done is what we pray.
Maybe sending the kids off to school is the first thing that's done. Meeting, doctor's appointment, Zumba, or shopping up next and off we run.
Have we thought to give God some space? While we're running around from place to place.
Where will we find the time? The time to sit, pray and silence our minds.
Allowing God, our Father to whisper in our ear. In the midst of the quietness we will be able to hear.
Those things that He desires for us to see; but in His presence is where we must be.
So, while you are planning activities for the day, be sure to create that much needed quiet space.
