Hello everyone, it's a great day to be obedient! LOL I just had to share this one with you all.
Do you recall growing up that your parents asked you to do something and you almost finished it? Like clean your room and you throw all of the trash under the bed just so you can go outside. Maybe I am the only one who half did what was asked of me by my parents. Okay, not all of the times but there were some.
Well, some of us are that way with God. When the Holy Spirit gives us a word of instructions from God, we may hear all of what was said or some of what God instructed. Oh but don't think for a moment that we are along in this. King Saul was instructed to kill all of the Amalekites; not one was to remain alive. This was a promise God made to Moses because of the way the Amalekites treated the children of Israel. However we see in 1 Samuel 15, when the time came Saul only half obeyed the word of God. He allowed King Agag to live and his men brought back plunder. As a result, God rejected the very man He made king. Saul thought he had done what he was instructed to do, but half obedience is disobedience in God's eye. In the same chapter, we see what Samuel said to Saul. "Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams." (Verse 22)
This past weekend I realized that I half way obeyed what God had asked of me. Earlier this year while fasting, the Holy Spirit told me to cancel all of my traveling plans. I assumed only those that I had for myself. Unbeknownst to me, God meant all of them. As my luck would have it, my grandson and nephew missed their first cruise. I truly believe everything happens for a reason and this trip should have been canceled as well. B.U.T. (but understand this), even though I was disobedience, God still answered my prayers. They were still able to have an awesome time. I repented for my sin of disobedience and the favor of God showed up! Lesson learned is never assume you know or understand what God is asking you to do. Always confirm with Him first. His plans or thoughts are way beyond ours!
Now, go be obedient to the word of God! Have an awesome day!!
One Love,
Valerie

Your Morning Thoughts
Most of us wake up to an alarm that we may snooze more than once. We tend to lie in bed before jumping up to get the day started. While laying there, what do you think about? Do you think about all of the things you have to tackle for the day?
Each morning we wake up, we have a choice to make. That choice is to think about God or think about ourselves. Being honest with yourself, how many of you think about God before you think about your to-do list or that ever so important project with a deadline closing in? How does your day begin? Me? After hitting snooze, since it is closes to me I actually pick up my phone and open the Bible app. I read and share the scripture verse of the day. Then I read and reflect on a daily devotion. Lastly, I pray.
The word of God says' “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.”
The choice is yours. Consider all of the things that distracts you and keep your thoughts away from God. It took me a while but I realized if I turn my first thoughts to God, He will guide me and give me wisdom to conquer the to-do list or any project that I may encounter. It’s in His word. God is a promise keeper.

Through the Fire But Not Burned
Let me tell you about a fire I went through. I know some can agree with me when I say it sometimes feel like hell on earth in my life. I was once married and madly in love with my husband. We dated about 5 years before we tied the knot. You couldn’t tell me my husband didn’t love me or that he would cheat on me. Well, I learned then never say never. When I found out about the extra relationship he decided to take on, the chick was pregnant. Plus I knew her, I didn’t know of her, no literally I knew her. I thought we were friends but turns out we were not. Anywho, I was devastated without a doubt. It was like my whole world was shattered and no one could understand. I had given my all and felt there must be something wrong with me. I just knew this relationship was the one to last forever.
Did I try to reconcile with my husband? Yes. Did I pray for my marriage? No and yes. I asked God to change my heart but never to heal my marriage. Could I trust my husband again? No, I could not. I tried really hard to trust him again but I simply couldn’t because I had not forgiven him. My life took a turn down a path that left me depressed and lonely. Going through this fire is where I learned to trust God. I sought out the assistance of a therapist; combined with prayer and my new faith in God I made it out. Today, I can confess that I went through the fire but I’m not burned.
“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” - Isaiah 43:2 NLT

Be Still Before God
There comes a moment in everyday that we should be still before the Lord in order to hear from Him. He wants to instruct our next move. But you nor I can hear from Him with all the hustle and bustle of the day. All the noise and chaos can hindered us from following instructions. So, take a moment and be still before God!

Change Your Life
Do something that will forever change your life! Get to know Jesus, the One who loved us enough to die for us. There is no way life can be as joyful as it is without the Lord. You see, Jesus says that He came so we can have life and have it abundantly. B.U.T. (but understand this) the key is getting to know your Savior by developing a relationship. It is remaining in Him and letting His word remain in you. Your abundant life is yours for the asking.
Oh, let me also add that you cannot just ask for something without having to give something back. I know you are asking what do you have to give up? Well, you have to give up your life. It is a life for a life. Jesus died that you may have an eternal life so your life here on earth should be given to Him. Is that too much to ask for?
Start changing your life today by getting to know Jesus.
--
But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! - John 15:7 NLT

Your Sins are NOT in View
Think about how far the East is from the West. Even in the literal sense, that's pretty far. When Jesus died for our sins, his blood took them out of God's view. Your choice to accept Jesus as Lord of your life gave you a brand new start.
You don't have to continue to worry about what you did last night, last week or last year. If you are a True Believer, then you know there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (Rom. 8:1)
You are free! You are no longer bound by your past mistakes or sins. Chains have been broken. You are a new creature with authority to walk in the grace that graciously comes from God. Jesus came to carry our burdens. Jesus took your sins upon himself. Your sins are no longer in view.
One Love,
Valerie
